Secondary School Social Studies Curriculum Related Activities

In cooperation between the Faculty of Education and the Department of Humanities a joint History / Geography major for 5th to 10th grades teachers was developed and approved by both the University Executive and Academic Councils as well as the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research consequently in 2005. I coordinate the History segment of the new major. As the Chairperson of Humanity, I serve on the committee that oversees Subject Area Teaching (SAT).   In addition, I teach the following courses in the new major: History of Islamic Civilization, the Arabs under the Ottomans, and Oral History.   Arab Immigrant Experience in America.
